It's probably worth noting, at this point, that there was major Japanese
input into Unicode; Han unification wasn't an evil plot foisted on the
Japanese by ignorant and uncaring Westerners. It's unfortunate that its
remaining problems loom large enough, at least in the opinion of some,
that there is considerable Japanese opposition to it.
