Hi all, I got a Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX today (Device ID: 046d:08d7). I tried to use it on openSUSE 10.3 (Kernel 2.6.22.5) but it seems like no /dev/video device is setup when I plug the cam in. 'dmesg' gives me the following:
usb 2-1: USB disconnect, address 7
usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 8
usb 2-1: new device found, idVendor=046d, idProduct=08d7
usb 2-1: new device strings: Mfr=0, Product=0, SerialNumber=0
usb 2-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
(I also attached the output of 'lsusb -vvv -d 046d:08d7' as a file to this
email)
Did
anybody get this model working? Any ideas why no /dev/video device is
setup by the driver for this model? (I also have a QuickCam Sphere MP
which works fine on the same machine, so it must have something to do
with this specific model). I can still return this cam and get my money
back, so I would like to know if this model is supported or will be
supported by the uvcvideo module or if I should better return it and
get another model?
Regards,
Jörg
