I've tried this camera too - not knowing about this thread. I've got the same
results - it is not a UVC camera. So back it goes to the store. There is some
confusion about this model on various websites:
<http://linux-uvc.berlios.de/> and
<http://www.quickcamteam.net/hcl/linux/logitech-webcams> list this camera as
device ID 046d:0992 and potentially UVC, which is incorrect. It seems that
<http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca5xx.html> got it right with correct device ID and
Vc0302 controller.
Now, the $1M question is: what Logitech camera HAS 046d:0992 device ID?
