At first, the December meeting was sorta floundering. At the Nov. meeting,
we have discussed doing a network and there we were last night with only
one PC. Self networking to 127.0.0.1 is a letdown.

Then came some more people. Wayne Hardy brought his laptop. We were doing
examples of telnet and ftp. One of the people asked a question about
networking Linux and WIndows PCs and the subject of samba came up. One
glitch: neither Wayne or I had Windows on out systems.

Then came Malcom and Matt with a PC that had Linux and Windows. We got
going with a three PC network, doing a bit of samba networking. Was very
informal and great. Lots of discussions, interaction, etc. Much better
than some dude lecturing all night while everybody else listens and dozes
off.<g>

Thank you to everybody who coame to the meeting last night.

Now, how do work out things for next year. Stuff like scheduling the room
and --the biggie-- getting the word out about the meetings so people know
which night to come to the library. Jeff and everybody, this is a good
time to roll forward.
