The obvious question--are you just copying the iso to a CD or creating
an image? I'm not familiar with Roxio itself, but it never hurts to
check the obvious.
If, on the CD, there's just one big iso file, you're just copying it to
the CD. There should be various directories and files on it.
Also, it's possible that the downloaded image is corrupt. The list's
faq has a link to www.linuxiso.org, which has sections on checking the
md5 sum of the downloaded iso.
