You were asked. When it asked you if you wanted a "server"
installation, it was going to include things like apache, sendmail and
other 'server'-type apps. There was also an ability to select
individual packages for installation, which you apparently skipped.
No biggie. These can be added after-the-fact. Just find in your
menus the "Add/Remove Packages" item (under 'system' or some such). You
will then be able to add packages on an individual basis, and should be
able to select apache at that point.
Off-topic a bit, but have you stated *why* you are trying to install RH9
over something a bit more current? Red Hat 9 is a bit old.
