This might not be what you're looking for, but this worked for my wife
and I on our computers in Linux: Set up a DNS server on each of your
computers, or one for your network if you have a computer thats
constantly in Linux and fast enough for the task (unfortunately, we do
not.) It was fairly easy to set up, and internet access is very fast -
especially to sites visited before...
