While that will work, it's not the only solution.  Due to some odd
quirk on the Live CD, while actually *in* the LiveCD's normal user
("guest") Desktop folder, the link to the installation script does not
appear on the desktop!  So, if you open up a Konqueror (filesystem
broswing) window and navigate to /home -=> /guest -=> /Desktop (I may
not have the capitalization or lack thereof right, but you'll see the
folders in the Konqueror window, anyway...) the link for the installer
*will* be right there, and usable.  

Now that I think about it, you'll need the root password to do the
install anyway, even if you start from within the "guest" account, so
you might as well log in as root.  You may need to navigate manually
to root's "Desktop" folder to find the install icon as well, I don't
recall exactly...
