Pick up a small-format computer with two ethernet cards installed, install OpenBSD on it, plug one card into your modem/router, plug the other card into your network hub, and use the PF packet filter to design your own firewall. No Starch Press just released 'The Book of PF' by Hansteen, covering the current OBSD 4.2 release of PF. The book also does a respectable job of covering the other BSD's (Free and Net) versions of PF. -- -wittig http://www.robertwittig.com/ http://robertwittig.net/ http://robertwittig.org/ .
