I think I'm going to split between your advice and Cameron's.  Machine
#1 (the affected one) dual-boots Win2k and PCLOS, Machine #2 is Win2k
only, machine #3 is PCLOS only, and physically separated from #1 by
enough space as to make cross-consultation impractical.  But, I do
have a "user" account for my own use on #1; in fact, to do any
keyboarding, I'd have to reach into the cafe account either from there
or from root anyway.  But if ".kde" is the place to look first, I'll
do that, and diff the files from /home/gary/.kde vs. /home/cafe/.kde.

In any case, it'll have to wait until Monday, the cafe isn't open
Sunday.  Thanx!
