What part of "Embrace and adapt" don't you remember? This has been
Microsoft's basic game plan from day one. If you can't beat
something, then adopt it and then change it adding Windows specific
apis to make it work better with Windows and not work with the other
guys. Sun had to sue Microsoft to keep them from taking java out from
under them. It's been the standard game plan from almost day one.
Yet everyone is continually amazed.
