board memory is 2GB. I am creating ramdisk using genext2fs tool , seems that it can create the filesystem upto 8MB not beyond it.
This is the command i am executing: genext2fs -b 4683776 -m 0 -N $inode_count -d /tmp/rootfs ramdisk.img genext2fs: not enough memory for filesystem Will try to create ramdisk without using genext2fs and see what happens. shekar ----- Original Message ---- From: Rich <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [email protected] Sent: Saturday, October 11, 2008 1:05:17 PM Subject: [LINUX_Newbies] Re: Ramdisk size limitation/ I think the only size restriction for Ramdisk is the size of your physical memory. on most live CDs, it automatically uses all available RAM as a Ramdisk. How much memory do you have in your embedded board? --- In LINUX_Newbies@ yahoogroups. com, chandra shekar p <[EMAIL PROTECTED] .> wrote: > > Is there any size restriction on Ramdisk creation.
