This got me interested to say the least... I remember having to measure my CRT's height and width with a ruler, as part of the X-Windows system setup.<g> Fortunately, I had a good background in DOS and programming in C, so it was a lot easier for me than would otherwise have been the case. Now there are some Linux (and BSD) distros that rival Windows for ease of use. I have been using Red Hat and Slackware almost exclusively since 2000, and for my server, OpenBSD for about 5 years. Recently I tried a Slackware derivative... Vector Linux, and I really do like it a lot... now have it installed on one of my Desktop machines in my office, as a permanent addition. It is especially nice for installing in dual boot, for some of my clients who are still addicted to Windows, but want to try Linux. Also, it does well on older hardware, and is quite fast on a PIII machine. - -- - -wittig http://www.robertwittig.com/ http://robertwittig.net/ http://robertwittig.org/ . -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFJK0KK4790tgvai6gRAt5JAKClWx2B5cOaL+pj0e6siHNPtujyiwCdHgaG 4Y7fsLmpRWnGYOsZADoZ2+o= =nL76 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from this list, please email [EMAIL PROTECTED] & you will be removed.Yahoo!
