Actually, I believe sda, sdb etc refers to SCSI which might sound
wrong, but on SATA drives, I believe they make the drivers so the
drives appear as SCSI disks. I am sure someone can confirm this.
It depends on how the driver is written that causes it to appear as
hdX or sdX not the newness of the kernel.
