If so, we will NEED to start charging money ... that bag is getting
expensive. I LIKE the idea ... but the money would HAVE to be charged
AND handled responsibly. Although I don't think our demos will attract a
lot of governmental attention without some prodding, I DO think
Microsoft is capable of providing the prodding in order to get BAD press
for "those Linux hooligans". They only need a single newspaper to write
bad stuff about us ... and then they could post it on their web site for
general distribution and also ship copies to their supportive
"ink-stained wretches" elsewhere in the media. Even ONE black-eye from
MSFT is too many.

While we are accustomed to handing out small quantities of free stuff at
meetings, etc., a successful demo could interact with, literally,
hundreds of the curious. I would NOT be willing to pay for hundreds of
t-shirts, printed bags and CD's.

Some LUGS might have a lot of money to spend ... but our LUG relied on a
single member to pay for our GLUE membership. I doubt if he ever has or
ever will be reimbursed. I am sure he did not mind a minor bit of
generosity ... but I suspect he would not be willing to sponsor the
purchase and printing of ... say ... 500 t-shirts.
