There are surely lots of penguins available for less that would make great
monitor-toppers, dashbaord ornaments, etc for far far less than stuffed
ones. Some toystores seem to have little plastic and wooden animals just
breeding in the backroom and preiodically transferred from the hidden
birthing rooms to half-barrel bins.

In fact, I think dashboards would be a great place for penguins to start
appearing ... maybe with black-on-yellow diamonds in the rear window that
say "Penguin on Dash", complimenting the appropriate bumper stickers ...

Kids like Penguins -- they're cute. Actually, most people without
irrational waterfowl ears like penguins. that's how cute they are. This is
not an attempt to be silly and whimsical -- I think the penguin-as-mascot
was a stroke of genius nearly akin to the GPL. The GNU gnu is excellent
too. Let's take advantag.
