For me it is a central idea, because when you feel at ease in such a
platform-independant environment, you are ready for the jump.

I remember a demo of PageMaker, ten years ago, done by a colleage who was
a Mac afficionado, but on a PC : she performed it very easily and
demonstrated very well that the application is one thing, the other is
your prefered platform, and it must not interfere.

Another idea would be to build a better classification (structured) of the
RPM files, to facilitate the construction of a 'standardized' cascade of
menus (cf my previous mail, with an interface using the KDE structure
(/opt/kde/share/applnk) to build an independant TCL/TK cascading menu.

Each window manager has its own organisation : it is fine for the freedom
of creation, but quite difficult to dominate for a newbie trying different
wm. 

It would be something like the basic standard file structure, for
application presentation.
