I is also my opinion, but I provided this suggestion as a trigger for a
more in deep discussion about a more 'neutral' (your word) way to provide
a generalized apps menu.
KDE & RPM came to my mind just because it is quite well distributed, and
it allows me to try that idea for 'mkmenu'.
I would be *VERY* glad to seed the idea that we need a neutral way to
dynamicaly build cascading apps menus, independantly of the window
manager, of the distribution...
RPMs have a nice way to collect what is really installed, but the field
Group is not often filled, and without any garanty of consistency.
