Very very true. Linux has made the world aware of
issues which were being swept under the carpet.
It has also given the computing community a new
perspective on development and technology. It has
brought together the best ideas - "socialist and
free marketeers". It has made everbody sit up and
think.
Also since the CLI is always available, making
Linux user friendly will not rob us "hacks &
geeks" from it's full potential.
Talking of dumbing Linux, there is a Taiwanese
firm that is selling a card with a couple of
Flash Roms. Plug it into your machine and it will
configure your Linux printer/fax/mail/...server.
The software must be present on the HD. It will
just write the configuration.
