Many companies used to advertise sound cards as soundblaster
compatible, even though the cards weren't perfect matches. I have a
AD1815 and its configured as a soundblaster16. (From sndconfig in
Redhat).

sndconfig did the trick for me. Try configuring your card as similr to
a soundblaster. Should work. Trial and error is required though.
