Sometime on Jul 7, Devdas Bhagat assembled some asciibets to say:

Ya, my card works - I get sound - but only in 8 bit mode. I did use
sndconfig, set it first as a SB16, then as a SBPro. No difference. Still
only plays in 8 bit mode. I also only get 22K samples per second.
