Sometime on Jul 7, Erle Pereira assembled some asciibets to say:

I get through all stages without any problems. It's only the error
message in /var/log/messages that bothers me. The question is why do the
modules not exist on my system (even in source format). When compiling
the kernel, there is no choice. The ccp compression modules will compile
as modules *always* no questions asked. Yet they are never compiled, on
none of the systems I've worked on (all red hat).

> -> ppp module isn't in modules.dep ?

ppp module is, ppp-deflate is also there. ppp-compression is not.
