As usual the answers follow the questions.!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------]
>My first problem started here. What is the meaning of "Mount on" ? Is it
>something similar to Drive C,D,E....etc as in DOS ?
Ans: You got it. It is the way of linux to assign a mount point similar to
the way DOS and Windows does. Just assume that you are starting at the root
of the tree and look up. What do you decipher. Well each and every thing has
to start from the root. So, in this case also your have to have a root. It
is denoted by '/' same as the '\' in DOS. Usually it is the biggest
partition in the Disk. So, your next question is automatically ansered that
you can not keep the mount point blank. The swap partition is some thing
similar to the swap space used by windows and that is why it does not need
any mount point as you shall never ever be required to access it directly.
Hope that answers your two questions.
Anyway I just left it

>on" blank, and said to insert some values in it and, should start with

Ans: Do not worry to much about the Graphics card. First of all you must
configure the rest of the system. Just choose the unlisted card option. Then
choose the SVGA Server when prompted to do so. In Linux the graphics
environment is not integrated in the system and is just a "process or
program". After you have completed the installation,
Login as root and give the password. This should bring to thr "#" prompt. At
this prompt type "mount /dev/hdb /mnt/cdrom" that is assuming that your
CDROM is set as slave to your hard disk. If not try mount /dev/hdc or
/dev/hdd one of this ought to work, more on exactly what this is latter. It
will display something of the sort mounted ... on /mnt/cdrom at this type
cd/mnt/cdrom/pcqupdt
then type ./pcqupdt this shall run the pcqupdt script and install a plethora
of things just accept them as they come by. When it finishes it will ask you
to reboot do as it says again login as root and then type Xconfigurator it
should now be able to detect your card. If it doesn't then try the unlisted
card option and the VGA and SVGA one by one.
After all this type usekde. and finally startx. Hope you will be through.
