Well before doing an installation I'd recommend a complete format of the
hard disk .. preferably a low level one .. I guess that should mark the bad
blocks permanently and linux should not have a problem .. However low level
HDD format has its disadvantages .. may damage the HDD ..
Well if you have bad blocks on your HDD its time you use that HDD as a scrap
dumpyard .. ;-) (hmmm .. dunno if that was the right term ) and get yourself
a new one .. Bad blocks on your HDD is bad news .. either your head may be
scratching the platters or it must have suffered a blow more that 11G ..
Your installation on that HDD may always be in jeopardy . even if a log
touches that 425 M mark ..
I guess you get the picture ..
