Well, apparently most problems have been resolved. I'm not sure what
happened. But setting my hostname (via linuxconf, not `hostname`) back to
hal9k seems to work. /etc/HOSTNAME is now blank, /etc/hosts contains:
127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain
127.0.0.1 hal9k hal9k.org
Someone please ping hal9k.org and see if it exists, or what?
What does everyone else (who has a dialup dynamic ip and no real domain)
do?
