It seems linuxconf has set the "masquerad as"
option (DM)of sendmail as bom2.vsnl.net.in
Check your sendmail config file
(/etc/sendmail.cf)
It might look something like the following:
# who I masquerade as (null for no masquerading)
DMbom2.vsnl.net.in
I think that's the reason.
