Ugh.. this has gone far enough! Let's see... the very first article in PCQ
on how to setup an offline mailserver had step by step sendmail.cf
configuration, in which there was one setting that made sendmail
permanently masquerade as a particular host, despite the actual hostname
of the machine. This would solve most problems, methinks.
I will do the research and post the result.
PS: If only the MUAs you use write the From lines correctly, you can get
away by the myip.org route.
