Just FYI, "NO CARRIER" is the message that the modem sends back to the
computer when it hangs up a connection.

Try smbclient -L NONAME -I <ip-address>

Firstly it is not about experience I had not come accross
&^IGD&I. The question was with regards to the meaning of these characters.

2) The referce was to port 139 it was said what we could do if port 139 was open

smbclient just list the shares that he has on his machine in order to access those sahres u should have permissions for

the share the opening of the port does not mean that i have read/write access to the shares

3) or someone who's used a vsnl shell acct !!!!
