hi everybody,
i've installed SuSE Linux 6.3 from Chip April CD on my system.
the conf. of my system is given below and have configured SuSE accordingly.
the first problem i'm having is that the speed is very slow (it takes too
much time
to start or switch between applications in X).
the other problem is, how to set the monitor resolution. by default
it is taking 640x480. in this reso. some of the windows or dialog boxes
are not fully visible (i.e. bottom part is clipped).
also how to configure the soundcard?
please guide me how to solve these problems?
system configuration:
P-120, 16 MB EDO RAM,
Cirrus GD5430 PCI-VGA card,
6.4 Gb Hdd (Win'98), 1.07 Gb Hdd (Linux)
Genius MyMouse, sound card with Opti chipset,
Creative 12x CD-ROM,
1.2 Mb & 1.44 Mb FDD
