Sometime Today, vulcan assembled some asciibets to say:

The point being that these topics have been covered at length in earlier
posts and are also part of the welcome message sent to everyone joining
the lug. Everyone is supposed to read this message and abide by it. Off
hand violations will be forgiven - we are all human - but we will state
the one liner, though mostly as part of the entire reply. Replying to a
query does take priority over posting these messages.
You have a point in noting that replying with only the one liner is
uncalled for and in such cases may be better off replying directly to the
sender.

Please also note that some of us are in fact 4 year old children - or at
least think we are. On a virtual terminal, age is non-existent; you are
what your mails make you out to be.

The point in sending it on the group is that others who may not have been
aware of the guidelines may thus forth be aware.
> please don't mock anybody in full public view.
> please don't highlight somebody mistake to others.
Accepted. It would be better to address the problem rather than the
person who (possibly inadvertently) caused it. In some cases though, this
may not be possible, for instance, the person involved persists with the
same nagging habit inspite of several requests by other members of the
group. This clearly shows that that particular person does not respect
the others and there is no reason for anyone to listen to such persons.
We also appreciate your attempt at checking your spelling when in doubt.
