One possible solution to this part of the problem would be to go the
other way - you could try a Windows program to write to Linux:
* Explore2fs (http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/linux/explore2fs.htm)
* Ext2 Installable File System for Windows (http://www.fs-driver.org)
