"linux26" will install linux-2.6.8-1-i386-3. Once base installation is complete u can run tasksel and select broad categories of apps or select manual package selection to select packages manually.
can you explain more about tasksel? is it a command to be given from the prompt once the base installation is complete? and generally how do I get the menu for selecting packages? I think anurag was refering to typing linux26 at the boot prompt and then when the setup starts pressing the escape key. is it right? I will try getting 4 cds of debian from some where and then try this installation. by the way will the menu selection also instruct me which package will need wich cd? regards. Krishnakant.
