As i said earlier plenty of misconception but very little logic. Give me logic. Past success is no gurantee of future success, particularly in the light of recent events like tivosiation, drm and new bioses (EFI ) that will not boot an unsigned blob. Buy a preloaded doze or RH or even my box and u cant load anything else. To me it seems arrogance and overconfidence about technical ability by developers who think that they wont be affected. Otoh imo the only downside is v3 might stiffle deployment in mass markets (already) controlled by incumbents and hence stiffle standards.
