i dont want to waste bandwidth first downloading and then asking. I
dont see why he cant clarify the position
he did, he said it'll be available soon on the website.. expecting him
to answer "where is the full source available now?" is being
unreasonable and doesn't require any further clarification..
your standards are obviously different from mine. But when a product is
pushed as GPL and Open Source and heavily recommended on this list, blah
blah - without putting up the source code even 2 years after release, I
tend to be highly suspicious about the freeness and opensoureceness of
the product.
Again (and you know this), they do not have to put up the source code
publicly.. but only provide it to someone who has downloaded / received
the binary product. Download their ISO and push them for the source to
the brink of their being suicidal.
ok - in hairsplitting legalistic terms I am being unreasonable, but
would warn any users that the lack of transparency here may lead to
problems tomorrow.
Agreed.. and if you do not get a satisfactory response and commitment
from openlx (preferably through a private communication) then kindly
enlighten the rest of us.. who then ought to give them some nice
*unwanted* publicity..
