Dear Rony, I tried my level best to function webcam .I purchased hp invent, thinking it might work in debian.Disappointed I removed debian and installed mint. No improvement.I installed camorama webcam viewer.Still no use.I got the following information.error (camorama) couldnot connect to video device (/device/video0) pelase check connection.
