    Rony its a pretty interesting and useful document. Do you or anybody know :-

a. Which is most used chipset in the cheap webcams we have in
the market

For e.g.

Although the best would be to know which are good, cheap
and functional (or can be made functional with some minimal stuff on
GNU/Linux) .

While the OP can't get it working, I'm looking for one which works on the same.
