I agree. The numbers coded in the driver are the halfway point of a somewhat 
wide range of the detailed min/max values originally included in the i210 data 
sheet. These numbers were withdrawn by Intel in 2013 and no longer appear in 
the data sheet. The original detail numbers were replaced with simpler numbers, 
and cover 100Mb only. The new numbers are also not in agreement  with the 
original numbers.

The numbers in the driver are 1024/2213 for 100Mb and 178/448 for 1Gb. My 
testing shows 1044/2213 and 180/421 are better values. Your mileage may vary.
