I've found that out too, that every option results in being "not qualified." I got my Compaq in Spring 2004, and my battery pack now keeps a charge for maybe 10 minutes. It will sit at 80% then all of a sudden it's 3% and I need to shutdown to save data. While I've never felt I'm at risk for fire, I've found it annoying that I'm a few months out of warranty and can't get it fixed.

What do you guys think, could the reason for our lack of qualification be that I'm out of warranty, and a lot of us are? My opinion of a recall would be that warranties would not apply, and it seems _no one_ is able to get a new battery via that online form.

Vadim, keep me posted on how they reply to your call.

I've tested out the form, if you enter in anything it just sends you to
that not qualified page. I have a gut feeling we're missing something or
hp is having some 'logical' programming errors. I mean when a company
says it's recalling packs made on a certain date with a certain serial
number - it can't be that only certain packs are effected that meet that
criteria. Tomorrow I'm planning on giving hp a call and try to figure
out if I can get a new pack.

Regards,

Vadim

(PS: Has anybody been able to replace their pack?)
