Or you just download an older VST SDK.

VST SDK 3.6.11 removed support for VST2 on Oct 23rd 2018. So any older version 
of the SDK will do, which you can find on Steinberg's Github page for 
instance, both via git (tags), as well as convenient zip/tarball file 
downloads (e.g. 3.6.8 or 3.6.7).

And anyone who wants to keep track with the latest VST SDK version just has to 
drop in the VST2_SDK folder and run one command as described by Steinberg in 
README.md.
