I don't think politics was an incentive in this discussion. It was just an underlying fact that cannot be avoided especially in a linux and/or FOSS discussion. Linux in itself is practically a political statement. Linux and the BSD are actually taking a stand against "THE MAN", as opposed to Microsoft which is serving "THE MAN". Microsoft is trying to integrate hardware architecture that will allow them to have control on you pc over the net. You know....like driver authentication. Nevertheless, we all know that this is not the venue for political discussion. Usually political discussions digress into banter over left vs. right, but to me, that is just a big rouse....a distraction..... so the people will not see what is really going on behind the scenes. To me, it seems that the politicians have created these two opposing entities in order to keep the people squabling furiously over idealistic priorities, so that they will remain divided. Y'know divide and concur. I think half of the politicians don't even know what's going on. So it's not right versus left to me, but it's the people vs. "The Man". Microsoft represents "THE MAN" and linux represents the people. It's just a fact of life. Everyone knows it. On the other hand, political discussion usually deteriorates into a raging squable over issues that are designed to keep the people divided. Remember, the true intent of this Government was to be of the people, for the people, and by the people. Linux is a working perfect illustration and example of what true American patriotism was originally intended to be. I know Linus is not a not a native born American, but he had the right idea, and wasn't America really the driving force behind linux???? > > I see what you are saying, however, I am not posting this on digg, I > am posting this on a LinuxUsers List. Yeah, I know......I'm behind you all the way. <sorry dude> and yeah, I know the linux camera was definitely a stretch, I just threw that in for laughs <\sorry dude> _________________________________________________________________ Get more from your digital life.
