Brian, if I understand you correctly you are establishing the
connection via SMB on your linux box? That should work but its
unnecessary. Why use windows protocol to connect from one Linux box to
another. SMB is there so that Windows computer can connect to it.
Linux boxes should be able to connect though more native means. I
would connect via ssh or use the Gnome Places/Connect to Server/ and
establish a connection with Nautilus over ssh. That way you would have
a graphic interface if needed.

>From what I know about smbnetfs I think it was created to connect
Linux/BSD boxes to Windows servers, not other Linux Servers emulating
SMB.

I could be wrong though.
