Without bringing the argument of spreading the freedom gospel, what is the
usefulness of a terminal in a phone without network connectivity?
I'll try to restrain myself....
The terminal is useful in many ways--fast text editing, manipulation of
the file system, clear and managed representation of data. But, I didn't
say it was useful, just cool :)
And I'm back in! Even if it's not terribly useful, it does allow
significant freedom on the part of the user, as they can compile and
run, or even modify, their own programs on the device.
And I resent the implication that freedom is a religious belief. Freedom
is objectively amazing, because it allows you to make yourself happy in
ways you couldn't if you were not free! You don't need to be religious
to like being free.
