If you have confusion on the right firmware, a visit to IRC channel #dd-wrt will help you tremendously. There aren't that many on the channel so you may have to wait on an answer. I had an issue with a WRT54G V1.1 and was pulling out my hair, as it turned out I had the wrong firmware release for my hardware....they were very helpful.
