Hello penguins, I have a problem with a Windows ME box, (eMachine T3100). I have been hunkered over this box for the last 2.5 days. At first I wanted to restore ME. No dice. Then, seeing as the box only has a CD-rom (R+RW) I attempted installing TurboLinux to no availing success. The only LIVE CD i have (Ubuntu Feisty Fawn) is my only hope to liberate this machine (because it's all I've got on CD which meets my criteria. Ergo it allows the box to function with a graphical user interface8^)
No matter how long I leave the computer to it's own devices of installing Feisty it simply can't/won't completely overwrite the filing system of this unholy union of Emachines hardware & Windows ME software. If anyone can assist me in systematic removal of the data on the the hard drive & THEN applying this version Ubuntu (see above) to this machine, your name shall be held in high esteem.
