Try booting the LiveCD and once live go SYSTEM > ADMINISTRATION > PARTITION EDITOR
Make sure your partitions are not mounted by right clicking them. If the only option is to mount the volume, then you are not mounted. Wipe the partion(s) and apply the operation....reboot with the LiveCD and try your installation again.
