Can you please explain to me what is a .deb file?  I am trying to
download lazarus and fee pascal. There are many different versions. I
just want the Linux binaries only. I don't need the source. Run on DSL
or Knoppix, most likely.

Is it possible for me to write the apps and compile the binaries on a
windows machine, and then run them on a linux machine? This might make
developing the apps a little easier, or maybe a lot easier.
