There is lot of upgrades in this version.
Grub fails to install >not really.It will install fine only on systems
with new version of grub.
It will not install if you have old version that have major
differences.It is not installed  to prevent overwriting your current
setup.

LTS is really the way to go.Just stick with it,work out the little
bugs (more off its is just not bugs at all)and you are good to go fro
years to come.
