Right off the bat: It's not a driver issue.

This is an issue (most likely) with name resolution.  Are you using DHCP?
(i.e. you plug in, and it automatically sets all the networking options,
like IP address/subnet/DNS server)

Paste here the contents of the file /etc/resolv.conf   -- this file contains
your DNS lookup settings.
