either way is fine, I haven't pushed yet so I can either replace the
patch or squash it in. I guess sending out a new patch is better, so we
have it archived as one patch on the list instead of two that need to go
on top of each other.

btw, there was an indentation issue in one of the last hunks (a comment
was indented with spaces), if you could fix this up on the way, that'd
be great.
