With 5.10 (X11R6) x now starts but the logs say;

(EE) No Input driver matching `wacom'

Did you built hid-core.c and wacom.c on this system?  Your kernel may not support your tablet.  Also, did you copy wacom_drv.o or wacom_drv.so?

Yup I build hid-core and wacom just as a normally do, I copied wacom_drv.o (which I'd presume is right as all the other x modules are .o as well.)   I'll try to do some more testing next week and see if I can work out why I was getting that error.  (Seems weird, I'm half suspecting I've stuffed something up but everything looks right to me.)

I had another test today and found this earlier up in the logs;

(II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/input/wacom_drv.o
(II) Module wacom: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
        compiled for 4.3.99.902, module version = 1.0.0
        Module class: X.Org XInput Driver
        ABI class: X.Org XInput driver, version 0.5
(EE) module ABI minor version (5) is newer than the server's version (4)
(II) UnloadModule: "wacom"
(II) Unloading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/input/wacom_drv.o
(EE) Failed to load module "wacom" (module requirement mismatch, 0)

I think this explains why I'm having no luck with ubuntu 5.10, I just can't believe I missed seeing it last week.

Thanks
Jason
